About the Role
The incumbent serves as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and reports to the Chief Information Officer in the Office of Information Technology. The Chief Technology Officer has conceptual and technical responsibility for the planning, development, and implementation of technology systems and projects within the Museum which are intended, as part of the Museum's mandate as a national center for Holocaust and genocide education and study, to make the Museum's assets accessible nationally and internationally, as well as inside the Museum. These responsibilities require significant expertise both in information systems design and in the management and organization of the Museum's collections and related information assets. The incumbent will supervise the Audio Visual Technical Services unit.
The Chief Technology Officer establishes and administers staff and programs for system architecture, network engineering, quality assurance, requirements management, and independent testing of applications software and information technology (IT) infrastructure components. The CTO provides long-range strategic as well as tactical leadership and direction for the evolution of the Museum's application systems and the supporting information technology infrastructure to ensure that it is not only reliable, available, secure, and cost-effectively implemented, but strategically established to support the Museum's mission over time.
