Chief Nursing Officer Jobs description
This C-level position is responsible for providing vision to the organization in the field of patient care services, and for ensuring that the facility is equipped with the best available nursing equipment. The chief nursing officer mentors and maintains a team of effective and talented nurses at one or more hospitals. Reporting directly to the CEO/president, the chief nursing officer is also responsible for budget preparation for the various sub-divisions and facilities, for providing advice in the area of strategic management and patient care, and for coordinating with physicians, paramedics, medical assistants, pharmacists, etc.The serious applicant should have a bachelor's degree in nursing and a current RN license. A qualification in the field of hospital administration is also advantageous for such positions. Generally, seven-plus years of experience in nursing administration or as a nurse executive are expected. Chief nursing officer positions may also require the applicants to have good public relations skills.
