Deloitte is growing its AI footprint and seeking to disrupt the customer service space by creating a solution that anticipates delivery of uniform, compelling, empathetic service experiences across machine, human, and mixed (human machine) environments.

The Deloitte Service Modernization team is seeking a hands-on VP, Data Science to lead a team of Data Scientists and collaborate with the Technical Architect to create data science architecture for ML experimentation. This role is critical in achieving our vision and strategy and is responsible for conceiving and developing AI machine learning models to solve business specific problems with cutting-edge solutions driven by the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

You will bring your hands-on expertise to lead, develop and execute the functionality and performance of ML models, analyze standard industry data sets, perform data exploration, and convert data science business requirements into ML models that the ML Engineer can deploy. You are an experienced hands-on leader with excellent communication and collaborations to drive the coordination of work across multiple teams.

What you'll do

Deliver machine learning algorithms to solve business specific problems mapped to use cases

Lead and mentor a team of Data Scientists and collaborate with Functional Architects, Technical Architects, and Solution Managers to understand business needs and devise possible solutions

Research and develop statistical learning models and keep up to date with latest technology trends

Implement new statistical or other mathematical methodologies as needed for specific models or analysis

Optimize joint development efforts through appropriate database use and ML model designs

Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers

Experience

12 years of development experience with 7 years practical experience with SAS, R, ETL, data processing, database programming and data analytics

Strong leadership capabilities with experience in collaborating and leading, mentoring, and engaging teams

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math or related field is required. A Master's degree and Ph.D. in the same is a strong plus

A solid track record of developing learning algorithms and systems, an extensive background in data mining and statistical analysis, and expertise in various data structures and common methods in data transformation

Excellent pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills with a demonstrated ability to visualize data and present core insights in a clear and compelling way

Ability to multi-task with rapid prototyping in agile development environments

Hands-on experience in deep learning within areas of reinforced learning, computer vision, natural language processing, classification, regression etc.

Experience with Machine/Deep learning software packages like TensorFlow, Spark ML, R, etc. Proficiency in machine learning tools like Jupyter notebook, python and ML components in Cloud like Azure, OCI

Strong industry and/or domain knowledge in Retail; Banking and Healthcare is a plus
