As a pre-IPO, fast growth cybersecurity company, we are seeking a Vice President of Product Marketing to lead a team that defines and implements the go-to-market strategies for our portfolio of market-leading end point solutions.
With an in-depth understanding of the market, competition, customers and channels (a Pragmatic Marketing Approach), you’ll deliver market/competitive insights, drive the creation of differentiated messaging and positioning, lead go-to-market planning and execution, and deliver sales tools and enablement together with product and thought leadership content.
This high visibility, strategic role will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and work collaboratively across the company, especially with Sales and Product Development.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Team Leadership: Lead by example and inspire the product marketing team and others across the company. Develop team leads to operate at their greatest potential through best practices, processes and day-to-day coaching.
Customer segmentation and research: understand the customer buying process in each category to properly target and maximize the impact of marketing efforts.
Competition: Understand our markets and top competitors in order to deliver compelling messages that effectively position our offerings to win.
Pricing and packaging: work with the product management teams (who ultimately own product pricing) to develop pricing and packaging for our products and product lines.
Messaging and positioning: Develop and articulate compelling value propositions that are clear, differentiated and defensible.
Partner closely with the industry experts and Analyst and PR teams to ensure effective thought leadership and ongoing relevance in the market; be a spokesperson for the media.
Lead, coordinate, and work across the marketing team to execute product launches that highlight our innovations and drive demand.
Sales Enablement: Work with the product marketing leads to create & deliver materials for the sales team and partners, including sales training, presentation materials, solution briefs, FAQs, and battle cards that help drive solution adoption and create sales excitement & success.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related field; MBA preferred.
10-15 years of technology product marketing and team management experience.
People-focused leader with the ability to build and mentor talented, collaborative teams; develop people; and link performance to overall business objectives.
Strong enterprise market expertise required; SMB also desired.
Domain experience on one or more of: email security, endpoint, network & application security.
Experience going to market in a channel-first and global business: channels include VARs, distributors, DMRs, MSPs and OEM partners.
Proven ability to foster relationships with industry analysts and drive favorable research coverage.
ABOVE AND BEYOND
Expert knowledge of security and ability to communicate technical topics to various stakeholders with differing levels of technical knowledge.
Deep experience presenting to customers, partners and internally, to senior executives.
Track record of thought leadership and category creation.
Exceptional writing and communication skills.
