What you’ll do on a typical day:
Execute a cohesive strategy for disciplined growth across all Brokerage operations
Oversee and optimize operational processes, including sales incentive programs, contractual agreements, key employee hires and IT applications, among others
Develop and execute high-growth financial plans
Achieve significant P&L improvements measured in revenue, margin, cost efficiency, profitability, employee productivity, safety and compliance
Develop compelling sales and marketing initiatives
Develop an effective strategy for attracting and retaining quality fleet owners, owner-operators and partner carriers
Be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the business unit
Manage direct reports as well as 25 employees in Customer Sales and Carrier Operations
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
10 years of logistics experience, with 7 years in a managerial role related to Brokerage or 3PL
Willingness to work extended hours including weekends, and travel up to 25% of the time
It’d be great if you also have:
Bachelor’s degree in Management or Logistics
Analytical skills, including demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to identify opportunities to optimize resources
Ability to perform complex analysis of data, processes, policies, procedures and/or systems
Effective organizational, leadership and presentation skills
Capacity to take calculated risks, make strategic, results-oriented decisions, and accept responsibility for the results
Excellent group presentation and negotiation skills to deal effectively with individuals and groups within and outside the organization
