OverviewnReporting to the Co-Managing Director and responsible for overseeing the business, this person will oversee a large Tech & Mobility account as well as have new business responsibilities. They will be responsible for working closely with senior agency resources, PR, and marketing stakeholders as well as multiple agency partners and office locations to plan business unit-specific and cross-business unit programs, national and local comms efforts, managing a team spread across the U.S. Preference will be given to candidates that have a proven background on large-scale clients and those who can demonstrate a strong understanding of and experience with developing thoughtful communications narratives, breakthrough media relations strategy and a non-traditional approach to earned media and integrated communications. Experience with enterprise, industrial and/or consumer technology clients is a plus, as is automotive experience. The role sits in the Ogilvy Public Relations Brand Marketing practicenResponsibilitiesnn Drive all aspects of client service including strategy, program development and execution for several pieces of the businessn Lead client in developing compelling earned media strategy, strong recommendations and proactive thinking and guidance to position the client as a true leader in an emerging categoryn Provide strong thought leadership to demonstrate Ogilvy value as a partnern Lead agency team across several offices to support national and local effortsn Maintain regular dialogue with VP of Communications and other senior leaders within the clientu2019s operation.n Ensure team is right-staffed and structured to meet client needs.n Ensure that proper client-related financial procedures are followed.n Management and Professional Skillsn Demonstrated ability to function at a senior vice president level demonstrated by: n n Actively contribute to the growth and development of their respective agency practice area. n Effectively manages account teams to ensure that work and service is delegated to the appropriate experience levels within the team structure. n Leverages client relationships for benefit of the firm. n Develops the professional and management skills of team members; provides ongoing feedback and training opportunities for team. n Lends skills, capabilities, or knowledge to assist managing directors in problem-solving on behalf of clients, teams, or general management of the office.n Is utilized as an agency resource and lends professional creativity to client and new business engagements. n Helps the firm to develop a positive image in the business community and other communities (e.g., media, political, interest groups) important to our professional performance. n Provides leadership in driving a positive work culture. n Is a positive role model and mentor for others in the firm, specifically in the areas of people management and client service.n nn nFinancial/Administrative nn Manages overall financial performance of account n Leads efforts to develop and achieve company revenue and profitability projections. n When necessary and appropriate, intervenes with account teams and clients to address financial and billing issues. n Completes timesheets and otherwise acts in accordance with company policies and procedures.n Business Development n Identifies and develops new business opportunities.n Leads or otherwise participates fully in office/firm new business efforts. nnPeople Management nn Strives to motivate and inspire teams fostering an environment of trust, accountability, learning, growth, and fun. n Helps company in efforts to recruit, hire, train and develop staff. n Manages overall performance assessment, training and development of relevant staff. n Conducts appraisals and career development counseling for direct reports. n Manages staff to maximize performance and productivity.nnQualificationsnn Minimum of 12 years of public relations experience, agency experience highly preferredn Previous experience leading and managing a team of public relations professionalsn
