This position will partner in setting the strategy for media relations activities including defining trade, business and general media targeting programs, developing press releases and other global media communications materials. Leads development of key corporate messaging and initial outreach activities to potential media as well as ongoing communications/visits. Works seamlessly with senior leadership to provide external & internal communications counsel regarding proactive and reactive product issues and other related topics. Serves as spokesperson for Allergan’s corporate media activities. Additionally, works on written communication needs for executive leadership, including the CEO. \r\r\rIn cooperation with IR and Corp Affairs teams, develop overall media strategy, contribute to developing/refining overall positioning and message content and create and implement strategically driven communications programs targeted primarily to media.\r\r\rResponsible for \r\rCreation of written press releases, social media posts, and other collateral materials to support corporate and global business segment business activities. \rCoordination of news releases with Public Relations team. \rProviding proofing, fact-checking and editing on wide variety of Public Relations-related collateral pieces (AP style preferred) and distribution coordination. \rCollaboration with Corporate Communications team members on internal distribution of news\r\r\rLead coordination of media interaction, when appropriate, between the media and senior executives. Lead media-related distribution services to include queue and distribution of press releases, media advisories, pitches and statements, as well as maintenance/strategic assembly of all up-to-date press verticals/contacts. Coordinate special events and press conferences.\rInform, and collaborate with, Corporate Communications team members on a variety of communications initiatives including, but not limited to making certain that web content is accurate and current across global websites, corporate overview is updated, and internal stories reflect current news topics.\rAssemble persuasive, “pitchable” content and story angles and proactively pitch to reporters/editors/producers on health, policy, biz/finance and other press verticals.\rDevise news angles to coordinate response to incoming press queries as well as domestic and global editorial calendar opportunities. \rConduct high-level research for needed media documents, pitches, and presentations delivered by Allergan senior executives.
