Description POSITION OVERVIEW : Directs the organization's financial planning and accounting practices as well as its relationship with lending institutions, shareholders, and the financial community. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES, includes the following responsibilities, but not limited to: Oversees and directs budgeting, audit, tax, accounting (P&L Management), real estate management, short and long-range forecasting activities for the organization. Directs the Controller in providing and directing procedures and computer application systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate and timely accounting controls and services. Appraises the organization's financial position and issues consistent periodic reports on organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth. Responsible for cash management of organization. Does not include Warehouse Banks, MBS Settlements, or loan sales (this is handled in Capital Markets). Ensuring all Financial covenants are met monthly. Oversee employee benefit plans, with an emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package. Maintain appropriate insurance coverage Manage banking\/financing relationships. Directs and coordinates the establishment of budget allocations across each channel\/division of the company. Coordinates tax reporting and investor relations activities. Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports. Oversees and directs the preparation, issuance, and accuracy of the corporation's annual report. Directs and analyzes studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization's policies and operations. Analyzes operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution, and determines their financial impact. Evaluates and recommends business partnering opportunities. Establishes and maintains contacts with stockholders, financial institutions, and the investment community as needed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct Reports: Accounting Staff and department PHYSICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Standard office environment, equipment and tasks, including work at a computer terminal. This position requires partial sitting and walking throughout the day. Some travel is involved. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Undergraduate required. MBA preferred CPA preferred Industry experience preferred Proficient in Microsoft suite of product; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. Ability to work in a fast paced fluid environment.
