Lead a dynamic, bold, and resourceful community agency into the next phase of its plan to eliminate human trafficking in the Galveston region! Staff, volunteers, and Board members work together to achieve goals towards combatting the presence of human trafficking in our communities.
Having just initiated a new phase of our strategic plan, the Board of Directors is eager to build on the work of the past using trauma informed strategies, innovations, and strong programming. The ideal candidate will have the ability to collaborate, problem-solve, and strengthen existing programs. Fundraising and community engagement are also critical skills.

It is the task of the Executive Director to oversee and be responsible for all personnel, organizational, financial, and operational matters in which the program and mission of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., as set forth in its by-laws, take place.
The Executive Director is directly responsible to the Board of Directors of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., Inc.
Works in partnership with the Board of Directors in developing the organization’s strategic plan, including mission, vision, values, goals and objectives.
Advances the mission and strategic plan by developing and managing programs and services.
Ensures a high level of program quality, including regular tracking, evaluation and reporting on measures of success.
Serves as a spokesperson for the organization and is responsible for the organization’s relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, board, clients, community partners, funders, local government, and media.
Raises funds to support organizational operations from a variety of sources, including government, foundations, corporate and individual donors.
Supports the Board of Directors in its fundraising efforts.
Develops the annual budget, subject to approval by the Board of Directors.
Oversees financial management of the organization, ensuring compliance with financial policies, manages accounts, and provides regular (no less than quarterly) reporting to the Board of Directors on the financial status of the organization.
Cultivates a strong, transparent working relationship with the Board of Directors and provides accurate, complete and timely information on the organization’s programs, services and finances.
Informs and advises the Board regarding current trends, problems and opportunities that are important to the organization’s mission and operations.
Serves as a non-voting member of the Board of Directors.
Maintains the necessary financial, human resources, and other management and administrative policies and procedures for the organization and brings relevant policies to the Board of Directors for review and approval.
Supervises staff, volunteers and interns. Recruits and retains highly qualified personnel and administers an effective human resources system that includes position descriptions, performance standards, performance appraisals and a fair compensation system. Oversee implementation of all volunteer procedures and policies.
Ensures smooth day-to-day management of the organization, including execution of all contracts and agreements and the creation of a contingency/emergency plan.
Ensures the legal integrity of the organization, monitoring compliance of the organization with all applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
Education requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in business, management, non-profit management or related degree. Master’s Degree preferred.
2+ years’ experience in management showing progressively more responsibility
Knowledge and experience in non-profit or social service agency work a plus
Experience and strong skills in areas of leadership, management and supervision
Experience and strong skills in fundraising, fiscal management, budgeting and forecasting
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong professional reputation and record of integrity, sound judgment and respect for established ethical standards
Must possess vision and creativity
Ability to work and adapt to adversity
Ability to engage and foster relationships with the community, public agencies, and the Board of Directors
Ability to travel on behalf of the organization
