Primary Function:

The Vice President of Sales serves as an integral member of the management team and is responsible for the planning, direction and ongoing management of all company-wide sales activities with the objective of maximizing sales growth and profitability.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Define and monitor the company's Sales Plan, specifically including goals, performance metrics, and the identification of new business opportunities related to specific markets and/or technologies, to maintain profitable growth;

Develop and nurture customer relationships and opportunities through the entire sales cycle, specifically including, but not limited to: Travel to meet with prospective and existing customers to promote company's services, to learn about their sourcing needs, and to uncover all short- and long-term opportunities;

Ensure company's quotations are followed-up in a timely manner, and that all pertinent feedback is offered to the appropriate team members;

Arbitrate and negotiate between company and customer to close on quoted opportunities.

Communicate the strategic and tactical needs and perspectives of existing and prospective customers, often referred to as Voice of the Customer, to appropriate team members;

Collaborate with customers to identify improvement opportunities to help maintain consistently high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty;

Recruit, coach and manage sales team, including the establishment of performance metrics, appropriate reporting tools, and technical and sales training;

Perform other related duties as needed.

Competencies Required:

Track record as a strategic leader, able to develop, communicate, negotiate and implement an effective vision for growth;

Strong technical background in precision machining;

Strong organizational skills including the ability to organize work, set priorities and quickly adjust to changing conditions;

An ability and desire to regularly exercise independent judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, and management and employees of the company;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in any business situation.
