Job Description:

The director of the program management office (PMO) is responsible for the overall program management function, providing leadership, coordination and management of the PMO processes and functions. The role serves as a conduit for communication between project managers and the executives who make the strategic decisions for those projects. The director of PMO supervises the team that provides project management support functions and administrative support to project managers and Executive Committees.

Key Accountabilities:

Support project managers by:

o Helping and mobilizing the team (project start-up)

o Reviewing program status reports

o Facilitating change management of projects

o Facilitating escalation of issues and risks

o Overseeing development, governance, and implementation of processes, methodologies, tools, and products

o Interfacing with business executives to provide strategic and tactical advice on project/program planning and execution

o Participating in the appointment of project managers

Review for accuracy and completeness and facilitate approval for project management deliverables like:

o Project charter

o Project plan, scope, schedule and budget

o Project manual

o Status reports

Develop and manage project management processes like:

o Risk and Issues management

o Change control

o Quality management

o Project evaluation

Establish PMO governance framework ensuring disciplines are communicated and followed

Develop Executive dashboards and reporting packages to ensure project and executive leadership are kept abreast of project status, risks, issues, etc

Acting Secretary of New Initiative Leadership Committees

Bachelor's degree or equivalent

7-10 years of Project Management experience ( Preferably within Financial Services ) PMP Certification ( Preferred ) Proactively manages project spend including reporting of actuals and the creation of the budget Experience to Project Management theory and/or software Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite including Excel, Word and Power Point required
