Make yourself at home with us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) In this exciting role as a VP Portfolio and Program Delivery, you will report to the CIO, UHC Shared Services and have overall accountability for Portfolio Management across the Shared Services portfolio as well as Program Delivery leadership for a substantial segment of the portfolio. Primary Responsibilities:Program Delivery Leading overall engagements/programs to from initiation to successful completion Partnering with initiative sponsor and UHC Leaders on program definition and initiation Partnering with key Operations teams and leaders to define Program requirements, expected benefits, and associated CBA. Engaging in RFP creation and evaluation and development, negotiation, and monitoring of SOWs associated with external solution vendors Owning, end-to-end accountability for program delivery Engaging with UHC Senior leadership to ensure proper expectation setting Partnering with stakeholders (UHC and Optum Technology) to ensure proper strategy, plan, alignment, integration and visibility Driving consensus and decision-making with business, IT and executive management Influencing senior leaders to balance competing priorities Leading matrixed teams to common solutions Maintaining visibility on day-to-day activities with project teams and ensuring sufficient communication and face-time with key executive stakeholders Providing status reporting to internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis Managing program financials Mitigating risks and addressing program / project obstacles as neededPortfolio Management Ensuring the alignment of technology investments to business strategy Driving the process of prioritizing, approving and scheduling investments Aligning business demand with technology resource capacity Partnering with stakeholders to monitor and identify the need for action on the portfolio Providing leadership reporting and visibility to investment spend and benefit realization Facilitating involvement of key stakeholders in the portfolio management process Serve as a trusted partner to Shared Services business leadership by providing innovative thought leadership and guidance on engaging the technology investment process to translate strategy into actionable execution Develop investment scenarios/options based on Shared Services business strategic themes, cost, business value, capability type & health, and other key metrics over a three to five year horizon aligned to business capability and technology roadmaps Partner with business architecture to drive continuous planning and maintain a prioritized three year capability road map Drive continuous improvement in the portfolio management processes Maintain a prioritized and balanced portfolio Develop a groomed backlog across the portfolio Understand, evaluate and manage risks to the portfolio Field escalations related to funding challenges Recommend strategies to maximize the use of available budget Ensure financial approval processes are executed in a timely manner Participate in monthly capital forecasts Communicate prioritization changes to all impacted partiesEnsure transparency and engagement of Shared Services stakeholders on programs and initiatives impacting but not funded by Shared Services Provide appropriate standard and ad-hoc reporting on portfolio performance Partner to ensure resource alignment to deliver the Shared Services portfolio Provide guidance and coaching on portfolio management processes to stakeholders Required Qualifications:Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 15 years of program management experience 7 years leading multi-million dollar technology program portfolios Prior success leading programs / portfolios of $50M ($100M preferred) Proven track record of leading enterprise scale, complex programs successfully People leadership and management skills, including direct experience leading, managing and mentoring teams of project and program managers Successful track record of delivering programs on scope, on time, on budget, on quality and on benefit Demonstrated ability to manage the details of programs / projects in order to drive them to fruition, if required Excellent communication, collaboration, team building and relationship management skills Experience communicating technology matters to business partners, senior executives, and strategic partners Proven experience interfacing and influencing in the C-Suite of large organizations Successful in obtaining results in a large corporate, matrixed environment Capable of gaining support for initiatives through influence and use of business rationale Proven ability to make and implement tough decisions Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time if requiredPreferred Qualifications:Graduate Degree 5 years of healthcare experience; preferably in the healthcare benefits business Experience in **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.
