VP, Aviation Maint Workforce Development','8538','The VP, Aviation Maintenance Workforce Development will create and implement a strategy for Attracting, Retaining and Developing the Aviation Maintenance Technician workforce for AAR. In addition, they will be responsible for training and development within the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Group. They will strategize the curriculum development, collaborate with business leaders on acquisition and delivery, and continuously improve and leverage training resources for the retention and attraction of key talent for AAR. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead Career Pathway initiatives with cities, tech schools and customers Design and develop in concert with the GMs of Repair and Engineering Services an industry leading incentive plan Liaise with ATEC, ARSA, and our DC team to change legislation to modernize training regulation Be the principal contact point with Aviation Technical Schools Establish organizational metrics for AMT retention and Attraction and define high-level plans to achieve them Lead overall design of a central training program structure, collaborating with local training teams throughout the Group. Oversee creation and content to develop apprentice/bridge programs to accelerate and enhance required experience and skillsets. Oversee delivery of content and provide qualified feedback to facilitators Evaluate team technical and soft skills and guide team members in development efforts Function as Group liaison and work with other business leaders to plan content shifts/new programs Identify and seek federal and state grants and collaborative partnerships available to assist in cost containment and maximize training and development capabilities. Assess technician skills, talents, performance and productivity and prepare to identify skill gaps and training modules for short and long term career development. Assist in providing special and/or additional training requirements as identified by internal assessments and Customer demands. Research new training materials and supplies that might enhance our training procedures and provide value to our employees Search for gaps in training material or content that should be filled to ensure safety and productivity among AAR Maintenance Technicians. Communicate with team members, trainers and management to ensure all needs are met','!*!QUALIFICATIONS 10 years leading a training & development curriculum planning and design effort focused on critical aviation maintenance skillsets. At least 10 years of hands-on experience with curriculum architecture, learning event content development, learning material and blended learning design, train the trainer certification, and classroom instruction. Must be skilled in instructional design techniques and the development of a blend of learning activities according to accomplish objectives and desired learning outcomes. Must have a proven track record in developing and refreshing learning programs. Excellent customer orientation, including an understanding of the advantages of partnering and alliance building both internal and external to the company. A proven track record in selecting, partnering and rewarding strategic learning resource providers. Must be innovative and open to new philosophies and techniques and the ability to integrate those with the most traction and applicability for aviation workforce requirements. A roll-up-the-sleeves type who can operate with a very lean staff and can develop learning as an individual contributor. Strong interpersonal skills. A demonstrated passion for success and record of achievement. Effective written and oral communication/interaction skills. Able to articulate the company vision, strategy and tactical plans to employees, customers and business leaders. A strong work ethic with evidence of meeting or exceeding stated goals.
