Duties: Head of Architecture for Electronic Market Making responsible for the technical direction of global team of 50-60 software developers who built the platform for all algorithmic exchange traded equity derivitives across the bank.  The platform needs to expand to cover new areas and be refreshed to meet current market best standards. Provide global perspective to region-specific team leads. Reduce risk and improve productivity through improved release procedures. Update interview best practices to help us find and retain top talent. Identify and remove cross-desk duplications of effort. Replace tightly coupled components to facilitate and accelerate independent development efforts. Reduce risk through development of then consistent application of best testing practices. Provide specialized advice to developers on varied topics such as testing, threading, low-latency, system architecture, release procedures, source control. Collect and analyze metrics for measuring all aspects of team performance. Rewrite the build system to enable accelerated developer productivity. Rebuild the messaging infrastructure layer to decouple our linux and windows builds.','!*!Minimum education required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum experience required: 8 years of experience in low latency, application architecture, or related experience.
Skills Required: Must have experience with electronic trading systems development. Must have experience with low latency programming. Must have experience with systematic portfolio risk management. Must have experience with market making technology. Must have experience with team selection and interviewing. Must have experience with modern software testing techniques. Must have experience with cross-discipline technologies. Must have demonstrated knowledge of exchange-specific feed structures. Must have demonstrated knowledge of build systems. Must have demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices. Must have demonstrated knowledge of best-practice release procedures. Must have demonstrated knowledge of version control software.
