The CISO is ultimately accountable for setting statewide security strategy, developing IT security policies and enabling agencies to protect the State's information assets from unauthorized access.u00a0 The CISO is senior advisor to state executive branch leadership and the legislature on cyber security issues, decisions and legislation. Information Sharing Analysis Center (WA-ISAC) - Initiates security information sharing across public and private sector partners at local and national levels. Computer Emergency Readiness Team (WA-CERT) - Provides statewide security incident response. Responds to all aspects of malicious activity at statewide and agency levels including containment, log analysis, forensic attribution, incident management, recovery; conducts agency security assessments. State Security Policy and Compliance (SSPC) - Develops IT security best practices, policy and standards. Ensures compliance with state's approved security architecture and regulatory requirements through security design reviews, security assessments. Here's what we are looking for: Five (5) years of experience managing a large Information Technology Security program, with demonstrated expertise in developing security strategies, writing, maintaining, or contributing to information security policies. A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science Degree in IT management, computer science, or related degree from an accredited institution recognized by the US Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education. A combination of professional-level security experience and specialized training may be considered as an acceptable educational equivalent. An additional five (5) years of experience in Information Technology Security. This experience must include security policy development and oversight responsibilities within a complex, large-scale computing and telecommunications service environment. An ideal candidateu00a0may also have these additional qualifications: Three (3) years of experience in a highly regulated environment such as HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, or PCI. At least one professional Level-2 certification as defined by the Department of Defense 8570.01-M Information Assurance Management manual.
