Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:The VP, Data Sourcing will be responsible for the overall implementation of the Data Sourcing Center of Excellence within the Synchrony Chief Data Office. This individual will be responsible for refining and executing firm wide data management controls in support of data definitions, data lineage, data sharing and reference and master data.Essential Responsibilities:Champion the governance framework to spearhead defining and implementing processes and procedures for data sourcing across Synchrony's Data CommunityDrive transparency in the current state of data sourcing, the intended purpose of data and its impact to the businessDevelop and mobilize data sourcing strategies by designing a comprehensive approach for data definitions, data lineage, and data sharing.Establish processes for tracking, gathering and improving data tractability and data lineage by identifying risks and working within the Data Management Oversight structure to assess and mitigateImplement data sharing and data transmission process and procedures and enlist the data sharing community in its use; drive adoptionEstablish processes and procedures (in conjunction with the Data Quality Center of Excellence) for profiling and analyzing data definitions against requirements, policies and standardsDesign and implement data sourcing dashboards and scorecards to track and monitor data lineage and data sharing results.Act as a mentor and coach to data stewards, data quality analysts and information architects for the effective adoption and use of data sourcing and data architecture standardsPerform other duties and/or special projects as assignedQualifications/Requirements:Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of TECHNOLOGY experience OR in lieu of a Degree, High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 9 years of hands on, mixed experience in technology and process excellenceMinimum 7 years of experience with Data Management, Data Governance or Data Quality in banking or financial servicesDesired Characteristics:Experience building and/or managing a team of Data Analysts and Data StewardsBroad understanding of banking, credit card, payment solutions, collections, marketing, risk and regulatory & complianceExperience using data governance tools such as: Collibra, AdaptiveExperience using data lineage tools such as: Informatica, Ab InitioStrong relationship management and influencing skills to build enduring and productive alliances across matrix organizationsDemonstrated success in managing multiple deliverables concurrently often within aggressive timeframes; ability to cope under time pressureExperience in partnering with a diverse team composed of staff and consultants located in multiple locations and time zonesEligibility Requirements:You must be 18 years or olderYou must have a high school diploma or equivalentYou must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection processYou must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.Effective 1-1-18, new hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.
