As a senior leader on the finance and accounting team the Vice President of Finance and Accounting – North America opportunity works closely with the Chief Financial Officer to influence and help develop a financial roadmap, reporting structure and controls to support our sustainable growth strategy. In this role, the ideal candidate will provide actionable insights, help drive the financial performance, develop, implement accounting procedures, systems, and the necessary automation to produce timely and accurate operational metrics and statutory reporting. This role will be responsible for internal management, statutory reporting, external audit, compliance, and controls.

The essential functions of this position are mapped out below:




Responsible for implementing cross-country accounting procedures and leverage technology for process automation.

Ensure timely production of financial statement and management analysis in accordance with governance reporting requirements from global headquarters.

Oversight of Nandos PERi-PERi North America financials including P&L statements, General Ledger and Balance Sheet, forecast, CAPEX and Cash Flow.


Acts as a thought partner with the CEO and CFO to help drive financial results and accountability throughout the business.

Partner with Nandos’ PERi-PERi North America leadership (EXCO) to develop annual three-year strategy to help guide growth plans.

Collaborate with Chief Development Officer to complete market proformas for go-to market strategy.

Works with other senior members of Nandos’ PERi-PERi North America leadership to share and adopt best practices across the business.



Oversee the periodical generation of accurate, timely, insightful financial reporting and management discussion and analysis (MD&A). This includes both internal management, external and statutory reporting.

Responsible for generating a comprehensive analysis of the business, identifying trends, monitoring, and reporting of key business indicators. This will serve as a vehicle to highlight improvements for cost optimization, revenue maximization and trend forecasting.


Develop and monitor annual budgets and forecasts and tools.

Manage budgeting workflows to ensure all budgets are accurate, comprehensive, and completed on time.

Provide business forecasts and supporting evidence to solidify shareholder confidence. Develop and maintain a rolling three-year plan.


Ensure compliance with all applicable international, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Cultivate a culture of financial compliance and risk management within the business.

Lead all risk management activities for the company through a consistent set of internal controls, assessment, and management of business risks.

Determine the appropriate level of insurance coverage, and the identification and oversight of risk attributes associated with major operating decisions.

Work with tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax laws, fulfill filing requirements, and complete all tax related items.

Coordinate with legal entities to understand and manage risk. Review contacts and execution with vendors, suppliers, and new partners.

Liaise with external counsel on litigation or compliance matters and assist with BOD governance matters.


Provide hands-on management and leadership over the finance and accounting teams.

Develop and manage internal talent to take on increased responsibility and meet increased expectations.

Lead departmental planning to continue to build the team for success as the company grows.


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or required – Master’s or MBA preferred.

CPA or equivalent certification, GAAP or IFRS experience required.

Multicurrency and multicounty experience preferred.

At least 3 years of external audit at one of the “big four” accounting firms.

10 years or more of progressively responsible finance and accounting experience.

Demonstrated experience at the VP level in a finance or accounting capacity.

Prior experience leading and developing a staff.

Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, possess sound judgment with the ability to learn quickly while working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Experience in process improvement, automation and value creation preferred.

Previous role in restaurant corporate finance department preferred but not required.
