Summary Responsible for operating the organization's pharmacy program in accordance with all federal and state laws relating to the storage, compounding and distribution of drugs. Contacts pharmaceutical vendors to obtain bids and/or negotiate prices for supplies. Establishes department purchasing parameters and oversees acquisition, storage and inventory maintenance of pharmaceutical medications and supplies. Establishes and maintains record keeping and bookkeeping systems for recording patient charges and to maintain adequate control over requisitioning and dispensing of all pharmaceuticals. Provides clinical pharmacy services to include therapeutic drug monitoring, drug regimen review, patient education, medical staff interaction, and staff Establishes and measures performance metrics with regard to patient outcomes, medications safety and medication use policies within the facility. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities u2022 Formulates and recommends policies, plans, and programs and effectively leads Pharmacy operations, including the management of drug supplies. u2022 Organizes ongoing functions such as programs, systems, care activities, and other programs as may be developed. u2022 Develop and administer departmental budgets and operate the department within the parameters of that approved budget. u2022 Responsible for maintaining accurate departmental records according to requirements u2022 Assures the monitoring and evaluation, of the quality and appropriateness of services provided by the pharmaceutical department/service and overall system. Job Qualifications Required Education Graduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Experience 10 years Required License, Certification, Association Doctor of Pharmacy Licensed in one Molina state.
