This individual will have immediate and direct responsibility for the protection of the credit union's financial assets by means of the assignment, scheduling, control, and coordination of all activities related to the collection of delinquent accounts. The successful candidate will directly supervise 20 employees, including but not limited to extensive telephone, written and person-to-person communication with and collection of past due and legal reserve accounts. The VP/Account Resolutions Supervisor will be responsible for the coordination and close interaction with legal counsel and for the direct representation of the credit union in district, state and federal civil, probate and bankruptcy court actions and proceedings. Records all communications and all collection activity.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003EFollows-up on past due loans and credit cards; makes reasonable and practical arrangements for interest, partial, or full payments.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003EPrepares information needed or required by collection agencies.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003EPerforms skip-tracing duties, as required.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003ECoordinates the proper legal repossession and foreclosure of collateral securing delinquent accounts, and for the maintenance of that collateral while in the credit union's possession and for its appropriate and legal disposition.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003ERepresents the credit union in dealing with legal counsel, small claims, district, state and federal civil, bankruptcy and probate courts, repossession agencies, and collection and/or credit counseling agencies, as required.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003EReviews past due accounts and collection activities with appropriate department leaders and provides necessary reports to the Credit Committee.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003EConducts credit investigations and income verifications.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003EMakes collection contacts to delinquent accounts, conducts field calls, and performs any tasks or duties in order to aid in collection of past due accounts.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003ECross-sells credit union products and services when appropriate.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003EStays abreast with current collections policies and procedures and trains employees in all phases of collection activities.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003ECoordinates, tracks and monitors daily scheduling within those that report directly to this position including overtime, flexible time off, leave of absences, and prepares periodic tracking reports for the Human Resources department.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003EPrepares and conducts performance evaluations, prepares documentation for retention in personnel files. Working with HR, recommends and implements disciplinary actions and appropriate staff counseling within the department as needed.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003EReviews and recommends revisions to department policy and procedures. Assists in the development of new and revised policies and procedures.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003EMakes underwriting decisions on loan applications that do not comply with lending policies, upon collector request.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003EPlays a vital role in enriching the community by participating in community service organizations and/or credit union sponsored events on an annual basis.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003Eu003Cdivu003EPerforms other miscellaneous duties as assigned.u003C/divu003Eu003C/liu003Enu003C/olu003Eu003Cbru003Eu003Cbru003Eu003Colu003Enu003Cliu003EMinimum seven years collection experience with thorough working knowledge of collection, consumer credit, real estate, and bankruptcy laws and regulations or equivalent experience; a minimum of three years supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership ability and team building skills preferred.u003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003EWorking knowledge of Federal and State collections codes.u003C/liu003Enu003Cliu003EAbility, availability, and willingness to work flexible hours to accomplish work load.
