This role is accountable for end-to-end orchestration and performance vs. plan for our rapid growth end-to-end Cell Therapy (CT) global supply chains. The CT Supply Chain leader is responsible for establishing clear supply & demand performance KPI’s and orchestrating end-to-end functions to achieve plans endorsed in the Sales, Development & Operations Planning (SD&OP) process. Additionally responsible for CT global materials & warehouse capacity, CT master data management, Global CT logistics, and advancing CT Supply Chain Capabilities.
The CT Supply Chain leader will engage and build a high performing organization, people, processes, procedures, and business strategies that result in delivery of CT business objectives. Major responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Serve as a dynamic, optimistic, future looking leader for the global CT Supply Chain organization of 100 colleagues that plan and deliver autologous cell therapies to patients globally in a high growth & dynamic environment.
Manage the monthly SDOP process to ensure SVP / CT Franchise / Value chain alignment of performance, opportunity, and risk and maintain balanced demand/supply plans across executing functions, and maximize business performance
Strong partnership with site-based and function stakeholders for aligned assumptions, production, and cycle time standards,for budget planning and ongoing to maintain supply chain performance standards within the current calendar year.
Establish SDOP balanced scorecard objectives and KPI’s in collaboration with CT Franchise, CTO, CTQ
Proactively identify, communicate, and appropriately triage key supply chain challenges and risks vs. business plan
Responsible for CT Production Materials inventory, planning & purchase transactions, & global network warehouse capacity to support CT manufacturing sites.Lead related transformation initiatives.
Build on established CT Digital Platform to further advance CT Supply Chain capabilities,including process streamlining and digitization.Identify, pilot, and scale out innovative supply chain solutions which sets BMS as the leader of cell therapy supply chain.
Plan, coordinate, and execute new market, product, and indication launches for both commercial and clinical products & supply chains
Support Product Operations teams with product supply plan deliverables, scenario analytics & supply chain performance transparency.
Drive continuous improvement and foster an operational excellence culture to enhance productivity and efficiency of operations across all functions.
Lead, coach, and mentor a high performing organization that is adaptable to meet the dynamic needs of the future and integrated with the broader BMS Cell Therapy network
Build positive working relationships across the network, can effectively motivate and influence cross-functional teams, partners, and executive management to resolve issues
Qualifications and Experience:
B.S. in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering or Life Sciences / Masters or higher degree in business or sciences e.g., MBA preferred.
15 years of integrated (demand/supply/inventory) SC management experience for a reputed, global biopharma or consumer product company utilizing world class planning & execution processes & supported by ERP & Advanced Planning Systems (preferably SAP suites). At least 5 years as a manager of managers.
Ability to collaborate cross functionally within site and across the Global Cell Therapy Manufacturing Network to establish harmonization of best practices, processes, and systems. Demonstrated startup experience or leading organizations through dramatic growth.
Good understanding & exposure to cGMP, FDA, & other regulatory requirements
Good understanding & exposure to current logistics/distribution global best practices
Knowledge of product characteristics & requirements; deep product experience OR cross-operating unit product experience
Experience in developing & implementing world class, global supply chain planning processes & managing them through deployment of global advanced planning & scheduling systems
Experience in biopharma mfg. process, principles & practices
Demonstrated leadership & international people management capabilities in driving change in complex, matrixed environments; can drive appropriate dialogue at the senior level to escalate & resolve issues; executive presence
Exceptional talent builder & team leader – actively sought out by others as a coach & mentor
Ability to distill complex information and tailor verbal and written communications in a concise, logical, and audience appropriate manner
Ability to understand and solve complicated supply and demand problems.
