Vice President of Operations (MD)Job Functions/Responsibilities:u00A0Corporate DevelopmentDevelop, drive, and manage longer-term, multi-year strategy, and tactics for designated markets u2013 as part of the overall corporate portfolio and P&L objectives. Work collaboratively with the Directors and PMu2019s to identify, strategize/plan for, and execute toward long-term revenue growth opportunities.Manage diverse set of Program Managers (PMs), with a focus on fostering collaboration and mentoring.Work with PMu2019s to find cross program/contract synergies, including adjacent capability development, within MPO organization. Develop and execute plans to capitalize on these opportunities.u00A0Drive innovative staff development (both technical and leadership) programs which supports both retention and strategic direction (including future customer needs).Recommend well considered changes to business model of the sector and overall business as new information suggests.Identify, research, and recommend partnerships, acquisitions, mergers, and joint ventures to support strategy. Participate in post-collaboration or post-acquisition integration activities to maximize value of integrated entity.Coordinate and/or manage the activity of other individuals in the company that are contributing to the execution strategies activities.Drive efficieny, continuous process improvement and best practices.Business Development & Strategic PartneringDevelop strategic proposals and business cases which demonstrate awareness of the business value and implications of proposed solutions to customers and markets.Identify, collaborate on, and develop strategies to exploit current work (both by project and by skill sets) into larger strategic opportunities. Drive innovation and growth through collaboration with customers, technical leaders, Business Development team and through sufficient analysis of competitors as well as current and potential partners.Develop customer relationships at multiple levels and disciplines within the agencies we support. Develop peer-to-peer industry relationship aimed at better partnering and expanding the business.Suggest, support and participate in activities related to fostering strong relationships with your counterparts at partner and competitor companies.Suggest, support and participate in regular meetings with PEO and Contracts shopsMonitor, document, and analyze target customers and associated competition to ensure understanding of market environment.Support all phases of capture activity, both as prime and subcontractor, especially in specific opportunity strategy development and bid/no bid decisions.Track customer mission and funding trends to understand future direction of the marketplace.Identify and execute strategic employee training programs that will support business development initiatives to prepare the workforce technically to align with business development initiatives. OperationsManage day-to-day operations of large portfolio of prime and subcontract programs to include hundreds of employees and diverse set of CustomersDrive organizational maturity on planning and execution for better forecasting and achievement of revenue goals and increased profitability.Serve as the sector authority and focal point, establishing business development goals, managing/monitoring activities, and developing processes to meet short and long term objectives associated with financial and other operations and growth metrics.Forecast, monitor, and manage customer opportunities, project execution, revenue, margins, and pricing as part of on-going business development, operations and periodic planning processes. This includes periodic program reviews for prime contracts.Operate as a proactive player, making recommendations for improving efficiency and coordination, in a collaborative, multi-functional team environment that includes the Principals, Directors, PMu2019s, Business Development, the Products organization, Contracts, Finance, Security, Recruiting and others.Collaboratively drive innovative recruiting and retention programs which supports both growth and strategic direction.Qualities/Skills/Proficiencies:Demonstrated ability to take initiative, creatively problem solve, pay attention to detail, and lead through changeProven communication skills: succinct and to the point in one-on-one, small group and public speaking events for a variety of content (e.g. presentations, proposals, strategies, etc.).
