Vice President – PeriOperative Services
University Health-Shreveport is currently recruiting for the Vice President of our PeriOperative Services. The Vice President (VP) of Perioperative Services is responsible for developing and executing the strategic direction and day-to-day management of clinical and business operations for the Perioperative Services at University Health Shreveport. The VP of Perioperative Services upholds and fosters University Health’s mission, vision and values.
The VP of Perioperative Services reports to the President of University Health Shreveport and is responsible for the following services:
• Operating Room
• Central Sterile
• Day Surgery
• PAT Pre Anesthesia Testing
The position develops, monitors and executes short and long-term Perioperative strategic plans, engaging Hospital Administrators, all Surgical Chairs and their respective departments and Perioperative nursing staff to facilitate alignment. The position promotes program development and advises on the planning and expansion of services.
The VP of Perioperative Services is integral in driving the system operational performance, achieving efficiency targets and ensuring the highest integrity for the business operations for the Perioperative departments. The role oversees and supports talent development of Perioperative leadership team to ensure succession planning, mentorship and coaching within departments leading to strategic goal accomplishment. The position is responsible for managing staff satisfaction scores and for implementing initiatives to improve patient, staff and provider experience.
This position is accountable for the quality of care delivered to surgical patients and must ensure that quality guidelines and rules are properly enforced and regulatory functions are closely managed. To provide quality care in a safe, convenient, timely and efficient manner, this individual will support initiatives to improve the quality and safety of care delivered.
The role is accountable for driving financial performance. This includes developing and monitoring of the annual Perioperative Services financial budget. This includes developing and monitoring of the annual Perioperative Services financial budget across the system and managing the Perioperative Services strategic, capital planning and budgeting processes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the state of Louisiana
• Master’s degree in nursing or other related healthcare field
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the operating room with 5 years of those years at the manager/director level
• BLS and AORN certification
• Experience in managing multiple departments preferred
