Responsibilities The Chief Womens Health Officer serves as the principal physician leader of the WellStar Womens Health System Service Line.In addition to maintaining an active clinical footprint, this physician leader will support the mission, vision, goals and values of the WellStar Health System, primarily through collaboration with executive leadership in shaping and managing the implementation of the WellStar Health System Womens Health Strategy, focusing on clinical excellence through the provision of quality, consistent, patient-centered care across the WellStar Health System. Specifically, the Chief Womens Health Officer will: Serve as a recognized and respected physician leader within their chosen specialty Supports the mission, vision, goals and values of the WellStar Health System. Recommends strategic growth initiatives Serve as the chief clinical voice for the promotion of Womens Health quality and safety initiatives, including the adoption of or changes to programs, technologies, and\/or services as appropriate Actively participate in the oversight of all clinical activities within the Womens Health Service Line, including partnership with key stakeholders around personnel, supplies, policies, procedures, and operations. Assist in the creation of an ongoing quality\/safety performance improvement program for the delivery of Womens Health services across the system, in keeping with clinical best practices, national standards, and the organizations strategic plan. Partner with the service line administrator and all other internal stakeholders to drive integration of the Womens Health Service Line throughout the organization, including the promotion, development, and implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices aimed at the reduction of clinical variation across the WellStar Health System Collaborate with colleagues across other service lines to promote clinical excellence and the continued development of multidisciplinary care pathways throughout the WellStar Health System as appropriate Recommend and lead measures for building and maintaining staff, both physicians and non-physicians, dedicated to clinical excellence with a patient-centered focus in partnership with local clinical and operational leadership Chair and serve as an active member of the WellStar Womens Health Cabinet Partner with the service line administrator and other stakeholders on the development and monitoring of budgetary and other financial indicators\/benchmarks for the Womens Health Service Line as appropriate Serves on WellStar Health System committees and task forces as requested Performs other responsibilities assigned by the Chief Executive Officer of WellStar, or his\/her designee. This position works collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to hospital administration, operational and physician leaders at all sites, the WellStar Medical Group, and system leadership, to ensure the service line meets all goals.The position reports directly to the Executive Vice President, Chief Clinical Integration Officer. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Proven physician leadership experience, including excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with administrative and clinical colleagues across multiple sites in a matrixed environment.At least 10 years of
clinical experience dedicated to the provision of outstanding quality patient-centered care for women.Preference for at least five years of medico-administrative leadership experience.Proven, effective, and innovative business development expertise, experience, and commitment to leading edge program development and clinical excellence in a multi-site health system setting.Working knowledge and experience managing clinical operations, resource utilization and management, quality performance and improvement, medical informatics, financial planning, budgeting and development of new programs and clinical service lines.
