nnJob DescriptionnVP – Finance & Accountingn n$140-170k plus 30-40% bonus, Relocation providedn nSioux City, Iowan nInterviewing over the next two weeksn nOur client has engaged Bell & Associates to help them find their next VP of Finance and Accounting.  They are looking for a seasoned, strong executive-level leader who, first and foremost, possesses savvy business finance, accounting, legal, tax, corporate governance, and demonstrated analytical experience.  The new, state-of-the-art plant commenced operation in September 2017 and will generate over $1.6 billion in annual revenues and employ over 2,700 full-time personnel once fully operational.n nThe VP – Finance & Accounting will report to the Chief Operations Officer and provide leadership to the Company that is at the forefront of the industry, including direct responsibility for finance, treasury, accounting, asset management, tax, risk management, legal, contract review and administration, and administration of Board governance matters. The VP is responsible for the direct and indirect supervision of all employees in accounting and finance.n nThe VP will support the development and execution of a strategic plan to advance the Company’s mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organization. The VP will also direct the fiscal functions of the organization in accordance with applicable policies, principles and regulations as well as oversee core functional areas to insure effective capitalization, financial efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. n nSupporting the CEO, COO, & the Board in the development of strategic plans to advance the Company’s mission and objectives, and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth as an organization.  Providing leadership in all aspects of finance and accounting.  Developing and expanding business opportunities and long-term relationships with the executive team, management team of joint ventures, banks, industry, and professional networks to identify strategic investment opportunities. n nPrimary ResponsibilitiesnThe successful hire will effectively provide leadership and guidance around key functional areas and establish direction for staff to manage & oversee all financial activities.n nFinancial Management and Measurement: n·         Lead all aspects of the financial management of the business including: accounting, banking, investment banking, capital markets, derivatives, taxation, vendors, customers and other financial stakeholders. n·         Work with the executive team to identify and evaluate key performance metrics.n·         Work with the executive team to develop economic strategies and forecasting to enhance profitability, maintain sufficient liquidity, leverage tax opportunities, manage cash flow, and limit risk.n nFinancial Systems and Reporting: n·         Monitor financial systems and practices to ensure fair and accurate reporting. n·         Work with the executive team to ensure that effective internal controls are in place to facilitate accuracy, clarity and timeliness of reporting and to ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws, rules and tax reporting.n·         Oversee the preparation of financial statements and distribution of financial information, reports and commentary to executive team and Board of Managers. n nRisk and Asset Management: n·         Responsible for the leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor the company’s operational and strategic risk. Includes promulgating risk management policy, enterprise risk management architecture, business continuity planning, insurance risk, safety, workers compensation, and environmental compliance, and financial risk. n·         Coordinate with COO on financial risk matters, specifically regarding financial risk management policies.n·         Coordinate with COO on asset management activities.n·         Coordinate and assist COO in providing financial review and oversight of all functional areas including review/approval of all contracts and management of legal representation n nBusiness Development: n·         Both an external and internal focus that introduces and/or evaluates options that drive market-based solutions which create competitive advantage. n·         Includes department and budget development, mergers and acquisitions, tax strategies, post-merger integration, joint ventures, new product and service development.nnJob RequirementsnEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEn·         Previous experience in a public accounting firm a plus. n·         In addition to possessing full-fledged accounting and finance credentials related to financial reporting, budgeting, systems, and similar activities, preferred prospects must offer demonstrated experience in the intangible areas of corporate governance (including extensive board interaction), contract review and administration, M&A (corporate development), and risk management.n·         Demonstrated track record managing relationships with third party financing sources, Board of Managers/owners, and typical vendors (e.g., accounting firms, banks, law firms, technology suppliers, risk management companies, etc.) is required.n·         Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business and/or accounting, CPA preferred.n nBell & Associates, Inc. was recently recognized by Forbes list of Best Professional Recruiting Firms in America - ****TALENT.
