Role Value Proposition : This position has leadership and accountability for overall performance for creating and executing on key business strategies for the Regional Market segment. This includes achieving planned results on sales, premiums and earnings for the 100-4999 lives segment strategies. Reporting directly to the Regional Market Head, this position will partner with Sales, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Products and Underwriting to develop strategies, bring them to market and drive profitable growth. These strategies will directly impact accelerating profitable growth and optimizing shareholder value for MetLife.\u00a0 Key Responsibilities: Primary P&L responsibility for the Regional Market Strategies Overall leadership and accountability for development of Regional Market business and financial plan Accountability for leading the financial planning process for the Regional Market. Partner closely with finance for the analysis and forecasting of growth drivers in the Regional Market segment Leadership and accountability for the financial performance of the Regional Market group insurance business, including making strategic decisions for Regional Market to support the performance of the business consistent with the financial plan Responsible for developing a cross-product pricing strategy for the Regional Market to ensure MetLife is competitively positioned in the market while meeting the Regional Market revenue growth and earning goals Lead the development and execution of the Regional Market strategy and business plan to support the growth objectives of the market segment. Partner proactively and collaborate effectively with business leaders from functional areas and product teams to establish sustainable growth targets that align with key constituents. Engage and work in a coordinated fashion with the National Account (5000 life employers) and Growth Strategy Owners (Channel Development, Channel Optimization, 2nd Sale, Property & Casualty (P&C)). Proactively and regularly engage distribution partners, brokers, consultants and industry groups to stay current on marketplace trends. Work with Marketing to develop and leverage an effective process to understand the key sub-segments with the Regional Market, get clear on which segments are our highest priorities and develop and execute on strategies to win in those sub-segments Draw upon the marketplace competitive information and leverage\/ incorporate market intelligence into the business plan. Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: 10-15 years of related work experience with proven track record of creating, driving and implementing business & sales strategy Experience developing and managing strategic initiatives for market segments with improved revenue growth results and measurable return on investment Proven success in driving innovative and creative solutions for the marketplace; experience with market segment vs. product focus preferred Direct experience in the group insurance and\/or the employee benefits industry preferred Prior experience managing a P&L or budget is desirable High degree of business and financial acumen Successful track record driving large scale changes to drive desired outcomes Organizational leadership; ability to manage senior and functionally diverse teams to success High organizational intelligence and ability to operate effectively in a highly- matrixed environment Undergraduate degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred Leadership Competencies: Think Strategically - Set direction aligned to the company\u2019s strategy, applying external and global perspective to meet local and global needs.
