The CAO will report directly to the Board of Trustees and serve as the instructional/academic leader of the school. The CAO's function is to ensure achievement and growth of all scholars and instructional staff. In addition to a strong philosophical commitment to Finn Academy's mission and core values, the ideal candidate has charter school experience at the elementary or middle school level, demonstrated excellence in educational leadership, and a master's degree (or higher) in education.To apply, please visit:****and Responsibilities School leadershipMotivate and lead staff to execute upon the Charter and academic workplan of Finn Academy. Work collaboratively with Chief Operations Officer to ensure and sustain smooth daily operations and fiscal viability of the school.Report to the Board of Trustees on topics of academic achievement and teacher developmentPositively evolve the school's culture. Instructional LeadershipServe as instructional/academic leader of the school.Support a highly functioning leadership team; effectively delegate responsibilities to leadership team.Work collaboratively with Dean of Scholars to sustain an inclusive school culture reflecting Finn Academy's core values, and to ensure an effective behavior management program that maximizes instructional time for all scholars.Oversee data and assessment system in collaboration with Dean of Scholars. Constantly analyze and reflect upon school data at the scholar, class and grade levels. Conduct monthly data meetings with teachers and use that data to inform both day-to-day and long-term decisions that improve academic outcomes.Supervise the Coordinator of Special Education and Intervention services, ensure fidelity to academic programming. Staff OversightProvide training, coaching and support to all instructional staff. Design and coordinate professional development in collaboration with members of the leadership team.Oversee performance and formal evaluations of all instructional staff in collaboration with Dean of Scholars, provide regular feedback, determine goals and track progress in instructional practices.
