Or you can apply directly to ****to job # 18206194. Position Details: Reporting dually to the Vice President for Human Resources, Equity and Inclusion (VPHREI) and the President, the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) is an executive who provides leadership in support of the college’s commitment to develop a diverse, inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of the community, including students, staff and faculty members and alumni. The CDO is appointed as a member of the President’s immediate cabinet. The CDO serves as the Title IX and ADA coordinator. In addition, the CDO will serve as part of a SUNY-wide network to support SUNY’s overall diversity goals. The CDO will also oversee and may handle the investigation and resolution of employee complaints of discrimination, and will be a liaison with New York State and Federal authorities engaged in the enforcement of Equal Employment Opportunity Laws and regulations. Direct supervision will be exercised over an Investigations Officer. Does related work as required. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: • Provide leadership for the implementation, assessment, and revision as needed of the College’s Strategic Diversity Plan. Seek and pursue opportunities to expand the College's resources for initiatives consistent with that plan. • Provide vision and leadership in developing and directing diversity and social justice education and training program for faculty and staff; • Support outreach, recruitment, and retention of underrepresented faculty and staff; • Chair the Equity and Diversity Advisory Board; • Create and review college policies, procedures, and guidelines related to diversity, equity and inclusion; serve as a member of the College’s policy committee; • Collaborate with the Student Affairs to create affinity groups and develop clear pathways for affinity groups on issues of diversity, equity and inclusion; • Identify appropriate metrics and oversee collection of relevant data to benchmark, assess, and promote accountability for the effectiveness of the plan and the College’s efforts in inclusion. Communicate and collaborate with SUNY System Administration on matters related to the plan; • Works closely with Student Affairs offices to maintain a student recruitment strategy that includes programs and activities that will enable the College to enroll a student population that is increasingly representative of the diversity of the Buffalo/Niagara region; • Serve as a subject matter expert and influence the development of campus policy and programming pertaining to diversity, equity and inclusion. As appropriate, contribute to the delivery of that programming, including cultural competency programs. • Promptly and thoroughly investigate complaints of harassment and discrimination, in conjunction with appropriate college officials; • Create and oversee the Diversity Dialogue Series; • Oversee the development and execution of campus climate surveys; monitor campus climate and national trends relevant to diversity and provide responsive leadership; • Conduct research and analysis; produce reports, correspondence, and issue briefings based on research findings; • Ensure ongoing attentiveness to the College’s value of inclusivity through active participation in campus initiatives and on shared governance entities; • Works with the grants department to seek funding to enhance and promote the understanding of issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the College community; • Maintains and analyzes data on the availability of minority members and women in the college labor markets; • Maintains knowledge of and ensures compliance with federal, state local laws, and SUNY regulations • Prepare reports and narrative materials relevant to the college’s diversity, equity and inclusion activities; • Perform additional projects and other duties as assigned by the VPHREI; KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Demonstrated expertise in best practices in diversity, equity and inclusion; • Documented knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and guidance relevant to diversity, equity and inclusion in higher education, including Title IX and Affirmative Action/EEO; • Proven ability to initiate and oversee major initiatives and programs in diversity, equity and inclusion; • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills; • Strong leadership and management abilities, as well as conflict management and advocacy skills; • Ability to effectively handle information that is confidential and/or sensitive; • Demonstrated success in developing and delivering relevant professional development programs; • Strong understanding of shared governance and the ability to function effectively in a collegial higher education environment. • Physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • A completed bachelor’s, master's, doctoral, or law degree from an accredited higher education institution; and • At least three to five years of experience in diversity, equity and inclusion, preferably in higher education. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Official transcripts will be required for successful candidates within 30 days of hire. ','!*!CTG (NASDAQ: CTG) provides industry-specific IT services and solutions that address the business needs and challenges of clients in high-growth industries in North America and Western Europe.
