The Second Judicial District Attorney’s Office (Office) invites applications for a Chief Information Officer. The Chief Information Officer is responsible for providing strategic vision, operational leadership , and oversight for the users of Information Technology and line management of Information Technology Division (ITD). This position reports to the Chief of Planning and Policy. The Chief Information Officer manages the Information Technology Division support staff, and provides services to approximately 300 local and remotely located attorneys, paralegals, investigators, secretaries and clerks.
Responsible for long range strategic planning, operations, systems support, software and hardware development and cyber security for legal and business computing
Provide leadership for applying technology to meet the priorities of the District Attorney and build partnerships and manage contractors for implementation
Maintain real-time data acquisition, research and analysis, and business applications as well as management and support of all distributed computing services, such as wide and local area networks, desktop computing and telecommunications/collaboration services
Maintain collaborative relationships with law enforcement agencies, research partners and Administrative of the District Attorneys (AODA) with respect to IT and cyber initiatives and requirements
Determine IT investment strategies and priorities, and monitor effective control of the cost, schedule and performance of IT investments and corresponding projects
Develop an annual business strategy for ITD that addresses identified objectives; provide quarterly updates
Assure high availability of all critical systems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
BA/BS in information technology, information systems, computer science, or a related field
A minimum of 10 years of experience with progressive relevant technical, project management and supervisory responsibilities
Current on data science and information technology advances, communications, products and business processes
Demonstrated strong technical and interpersonal skills
Strong decision making, problem solving and strategic thinking skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
MBA, MA or MS in information technology, information systems,computer science, or a related field
Experience in a scientific, an academic or law office environment
Demonstrated knowledge in budget outlook, long term business strategy, and planning
Familiarity and experience with performance evaluation and measurement plans
Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a broad cross-section of roles.

The Bernalillo County District Attorney's office currently consists of the following prosecutorial divisions: Major Crimes Unit The Major Crimes Unit prosecutes felonies, violent offenses, and repeat offenders, such as homicides, kidnapping, and armed robberies. Special Victims Unit The Special Victims Unit is a division within the Major Crimes Unit that specializes in prosecuting felony cases pertaining to sexual assaults, rapes, and domestic violence. General Crimes Unit The General Crimes Unit is made up of prosecution teams that handle general felony prosecutions throughout the jurisdiction. Juvenile Crimes Division The Juvenile Division prosecutes juvenile offenders who commit misdemeanor and felony crimes in our community. Metro Court Division The Metro Court Division aggressively prosecutes the most serious misdemeanor crimes in our state: domestic violence and first through third DWI cases. Complex misdemeanor fraud, theft and prostitution cases are also a targeted focus of attorneys within this division.
