The Channels & Integration team is at the forefront of the Digital Strategy at Metlife, developing world-class customer platforms that enable marketing, distribution and servicing globally.
The AVP Platform Enablement
is responsible for developing a global workforce to support regional and local markets in adopting Digital Platforms, specifically Global Sales & Servicing Platform, Web and Mobile. This includes developing an engineering practice that defines, educates, certifies and accelerates local application development by boot-strapping enablement teams that can prepare, educate, support and rescue projects that struggle in the adoption of the Digital Platforms. This role will also be responsible for monitoring and reporting implementation quality and enforce strategic adherence.
Effective implementations of Digital Platforms globally are critical to the success of the Company’s Digital Strategy and a strategic imperative. Successful implementations of Digital Platforms will optimize revenue channels, increase channel productivity and reduce operational costs. This leader will have direct and indirect responsibility in delivering strategic initiatives that are critical to the realization of MetLife’s digital objectives, growth and customer satisfaction. This leader will collaborate closely with Program and Technology Partners (CIOs and Regional Application Development Leaders)
Develops implementation standards and playbooks for developing and onboarding Global Sales & Service Platform, Web and Mobile applications
Develops training and certification programs for internal and external development resources, ensuring the development workforce is skilled and accredited on Digital Platforms
Defines quality metrics and governance processes in alignment with Platforms strategy
Collaborates closely with CORE Product teams to understand upcoming changes and incorporates them into a knowledge-base for training
Assembles ‘boot-strap teams’ to seed projects and accelerate adoption and learning curve for local markets
Manages application development resources skilled in Digital Platforms
Oversees development partner relationships, defining risk profiles for project execution
Partners with multiple senior technology leaders to manage a holistic approach to strategy, planning, program delivery and communications
Leads structured meetings with Senior IT and Business leaders to define program scope and translates it into execution plans with timelines and cost estimates
Builds productive relationships and personal credibility with key business and technology stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and maintain alignment, in a highly matrixed global environment
Provides platform representation at program governance meetings with executive and senior management
Ensure that support functions deploy appropriate resources in support of strategic programs
Anticipated travel up to 15%

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
10 years of experience in SDLC methodologies and leading delivery of enterprise scale technology projects
5 years of experience in Platform and Product development with a dedicated focus on software engineering practices, patterns and frameworks.
Experience in digital technologies and strategies including web and mobile
Experience working in Financial Services; Insurance (Life, P&C, Health) and/or Banking experience is preferred
Outstanding executive communication skills, written and oral
Strong strategic thinking and tactical execution capabilities; brings critical thinking and intellectual rigor
Able to work in and bring clarity to ambiguous, evolving environments
Maintains a high performance / high accountability mentality, demonstrated in large, matrixed initiatives
Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field required
