Lone Star College-System Office employees are based at one of two System Office locations; The Woodlands and University Park. Both are the site for multiple administrative departments and system-wide training programs.
This position is located at the LSC-System Office, University Park location at 20515 SH 249 (SH 249 and Louetta Road) Houston, Texas 77070-2607.
Holds direct management authority and accountability to execute policies and operational initiatives for the department. Responsible for developing and sustaining the office of external communication
strategy. Provides expertise, oversight and leadership in the development, integration and execution of all communication activities, including public media - TV and print initiatives and special events. Will
also assist participating business councils and business development activities.
Provides leadership in the implementation, and evaluation of highly visible communications; coordinates and oversees effective communications and ensures communications are consistent, appropriate and effective
Works closely with the Senior AVC and Executive Directors to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for student recruitment, in particular for non-traditional students, active duty service members and veterans; provides leadership to cross-functional implementation teams including, but not limited to, academic and student services, credit and continuing education courses, corporate training and economic development services, and cultural events for the Internal and external community
Continuously evaluates process and communication standards within the department of External and Employer Relations, developing and overseeing strategies for continuous quality improvement; develops strategies to integrate innovative technologies and methods to strengthen communications, and works collaboratively with constituent groups at all levels to document and improve communications, and works collaboratively with constituent groups at all levels to document and Improve communications and business processes
Remains visible in the community and actively works to expand relationships while sharing the LSC vision; works collaboratively with all levels of LSC staff and leadership to deliver a cohesive response to inquiries in regard to credit and non-credit progress
Serves as liaison to public media promoting the College's programs, including print and television
Works closely with a variety of LSC leadership and teams to create and archive professional level presentations for the LSC leadership teams; provides highly skilled communication advice, strategy and direction to internal stakeholders at all levels, as needed
Creates, analyzes, and utilizes a variety of detailed reports; uses resulting information in decision-making and to provide informed updates to Administration
Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

Work Schedule & Conditions:
Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows
environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
Internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
Work is performed In a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
