Our client, an established manufacturer located in Aurora, IL, is seeking a Vice President of Finance to join their Executive Management Team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced finance leader to have an impact on the company's future and drive efforts to meet the organization's strategic goals, including substantial growth.
Job Summary:
The Vice President of Finance is accountable for the financial and risk management operations of the company, including the development of a financial and operational strategy and metrics tied to that strategy, in coordination with the Managing Partner and/or President. This role is also responsible for the development and monitoring of control systems, designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide leadership in the development and continuous evaluation of short and long- term strategic financial objectives
Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions of the organization
Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive cost audit system
Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/products/strategies and regulatory action
Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and provide full range of business solutions
Advise executive management on the financial implications of business activities
Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
Develop financial and tax strategies
Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
Manage third party relationships to which accounting, or finance functions have been outsourced, as well as banking and investor relationships
Manage the departments/functions of: Accounting
Human Resources
Cost Auditing
Risk Management
Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
Construct and monitor reliable financial control systems
Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
Report risk issues to the President and Managing Partner
Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
Arrange for debt and equity financing
Invest funds, including pension funds
Master's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience
At least five years of experience in accounting/financial leadership role with progressive, applicable experience
Experience in partnering with an executive team
High level of written and oral communication skills
Strong analytic skills, problem-solving ability and self-starter mentality required
Ability to effectively lead a team and collaborate cross-functionally with other teams
Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance and/or the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designations
