VP of Human Resources:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Annually review and make recommendations to executive management for improvement of the company's policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.Act as chief HR contact for both employees and independent contractorsMaintain knowledge of industry trends and Federal and State employment legislation and ensure the company's complianceCommunicate changes in the companys personnel policies and procedures and ensure proper compliance is followedDrive corporate culture and employee engagementAssist executive management in the annual review, preparation andadministration of the wage and salary program.Coordinate or conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.Consult with legal counsel on personnel matters as appropriate, and/or as directed by senior management.Recommend, evaluate, and participate in staff developmentDevelop & maintain an HR system that meets personnel information needs.Recruit and onboard new hiresConduct performance management and provide feedbackManage payroll and benefits for employeesContinue to build HR infrastructure and processes and procedures that support continued growthQualifications:Bachelor's degree or relevant experienceMerger Experience very desirable10 years' experience in a leadership Human Resources role with responsibilities that have included HR compliance, recruitment, payroll, performance management, benefits administration, training and development and strategic and corporate culture/employee engagement initiatives.Strong recruiting experience and demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategiesDemonstrated expertise training managers and employeesStrong organizational, critical thinking and communications skillsAttention to detail and sound judgmentRoll up your sleeves attitude with previous experience working at smaller, growing firmsExperience in logistics or transportation field and/or experience with independent contractors is a plus
