Description: The BLACK HAWK Modernization Chief Engineer will be responsible for all technical activities relating to maturing the BLACK HAWK product strategy, maintaining/executing the product roadmap and driving business growth. Additionally, the role will support coordination of proposals, business plans, and statements of work for all modernization projects. The prime focus for the BLAWK HAWK Modernization Chief Engineer will be leading technical performance, cost and schedule objectives to implement the Army's top platform priorities focused around ITE integration, Open Architecture (OA) Cockpit, Autonomy (OPV) and PHM technology insertion. The incumbent will also be responsible for executing an obsolescence management plan to enable identification of actual and potential obsolescence issues as well as develop and execute risk mitigation plans for Contractor Furnished Material (CFM) challenges that may occur during the performance of the MYIX contract. The successful candidate will act as the primary customer contact for program activities related to modernization and obsolescence projects.The BLACK HAWK Modernization Chief Engineer will also be responsible for the following, but not limited to:• Leading a cross functional design and manufacturing engineering team • Develop and execute plans for key engineering deliverables (drawings, tooling, etc.) along with corresponding metrics. • Management of and interaction with internal and external suppliers critical to execution of the programs.• Interface with various functional disciplines including program management, supply chain management, finance, contracts, operations, supportability, and quality.• Management of BLACK HAWK R&D and Capital budgets.Desired Skills: • Masters of Science in Engineering • 3-5 years leading an IPT and experience working with a USG customer.• Experience with successful project management of large projects Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science in Engineering • 10 years of rotorcraft system design engineering experience • Strong leadership skills• Self-starter • Strong technical problem-solving ability• Strong interpersonal skills• Strong communication and presentation skills Lockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
