The Vice President (VP) of Quality and Resource Management reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and has full responsibility for Quality and performance across the organization. The VP is responsible for comprehensive performance measurement/improvement activities that include publicly reported measures, facility-wide quality reviews, Patient Safety activities, Infection Control, Clinical Documentation and Regulatory Compliance. The VP Contributes to the company’s mission and vision by supporting and coordinating performance improvement activity for the campus of SRMC and manages the activities of the program in conjunction with the leadership team.
Challenges and functions of the VP of Quality include: 1. Assures the integrity and accuracy of publicly reported measures. 2. Leads organizational Patient safety initiatives. 3. Directs investigations of never-events, hospital acquired conditions and proactive FMEA activities. 4. Data analysis and performance improvement programs. 5. Oversees activities to directly improve patient outcomes and meet/exceed VBP measures. 6. Recommends actions when system or individual performance issues are identified.
EXPERIENCE Required -Three (3) to five years (5) years progressive hospital leadership experience with three (3) years at a director level or above -Knowledge of applicable regulatory, compliance, and accreditation standards and requirements -A strong foundation in the following areas: clinical knowledge, performance improvement, management education, staff development/supervision, organizational awareness, data analysis, and verbal and written communication -Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Preferred -Prior experience in Quality and/or Risk Management
EDUCATION Required -Master’s degree in a health related field or completion of Master’s degree within 12 months
LICENSURE Required -Licensed in Virginia as a Registered Nurse. If out of state, must hold Virginia Licensure or meet appropriate Compact guidelines upon start date. Preferred -CPHRM or CPHQ
