Chief Information Security Officer Jobs
The chief information security officer is responsible for ensuring the successful development, implementation, and maintenance of information security programs throughout the given organization. The individual is generally engaged in mentoring and managing a team of IT professionals and network security experts. This officer typically reports to the chief technical officer or to the vice president of information technology.
The serious applicant should have a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or any engineering discipline, in addition to some prior experience as an information security officer and five-plus years of experience in the field of information technology. The post requires knowledge of information security, auditing, security software, and risk management. Most chief information security officer positions require expertise in handling these matters on the Windows, Linux, Unix, and IDS operating systems.
